Getting to know me

Hello and welcome!

My name is Milena, (pronounced Mil-eeena) I’m a passionate 27 year old photographer, based in the picturesque landscapes of Shetland. I’ve been fortunate enough to live in the isles for just over 7 years, and loved every second of it.

Shetland ignited a flame in my creativity from the moment I stepped foot off the boat, and my work is my testament to Shetlands beauty. Between the scenery and folk, I couldn't tell you which of the two I adore more. The community and atmosphere in Shetland is truly one of a kind.

About my work

Firstly.. Forget everything you think about a photography session. The poses, forced smiles, awkward feelings.. That’s not what we’re doing anymore, leave that in the 90’s. Welcome to my world of fun, modern, comfortable and comical photography sessions.

I want the good, the bad, the beautiful, the laughs, the cries, and everything in-between. I want to capture the cringe, your snort laugh, and your nan off guard necking the booze at your wedding reception. When people feel comfortable with their photographer, it makes for the most beautiful, candid, natural photos. Whether it’s your wedding day, newborn session, or family events, you can guarantee my (to quote) “Jestful personality”.
